We were engaged by a returning main contractor, reflecting our proven quality and expertise, to undertake roofing works at an industrial site in Deptford, London. The existing asbestos roof had exceeded its serviceable lifespan, and the client took the opportunity to upgrade the system to meet current thermal (U-value) and fire performance standards.
Given our specialist qualifications, we were contracted to safely remove the existing asbestos-containing materials. Due to the hazardous nature of the works, the area was fully segregated using barriers and gated access to clearly define the exclusion zone and protect both site personnel and the public. The main contractor also implemented safety measures, including safety and debris netting and edge protection.
All asbestos removal works were carried out in strict accordance with the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012. Waste materials were handled and disposed of by a licensed hazardous waste specialist, ensuring full compliance with statutory requirements.
Following removal, we installed a new composite roofing system complete with rooflights. The project also included the installation of a replacement membrane gutter, new rainwater pipework, and perimeter cappings. GRP weathering was applied to the raked verge to provide robust protection against water ingress.
The project was completed and handed over snag-free.
